At Herthadalen & Ledreborg, there's plenty of space, room for creativity, and ample opportunity to make use of the nature you find yourself in. Bring, for example, kubb or a pétanque court from home, and let your guests enjoy themselves with garden games in the green surroundings.

We always strive to make your event as personal as possible. We naturally tailor the day to your wishes. Please feel free to take us with you for advice – We will gladly help! Depending on what kind of party you are planning, you can read more about the different options below.

Host the next big party in the woods

Some days deserve a little more peace and quiet. A christening, a confirmation, a milestone birthday or an anniversary. Occasions where the most important thing isn't the schedule – but the time spent together. At Herthadalen & Ledreborg, we create the setting for special occasions, where there's room for both the solemn and the intimate.

The celebration can take the form of a Dinner & Party, as the evening slowly draws in, the atmosphere changes, and the lights in the garden are lit one by one. The food is served with respect for the season, the pace is relaxed, and there is room for speeches, laughter, and the small moments in between.

Or if a Daylight breakfast – informal & relaxed. A celebration with good food, togetherness, and time to be present, without the day needing to stretch on any longer than necessary.

Common to both: Food prepared with respect for the season, a simple setting, and a personable hosting style that is present without being intrusive.

Experience the Forest Kitchen

As expectant parents, confirmation candidates, bridal couples etc., you are always welcome to pop by and experience the forest kitchen when the restaurant is open on selected days. Here you can get a feel for the atmosphere, the food and the hospitality – and experience what Herthadalen feels like when the place is buzzing.

We do not offer trial dinners for events, but a visit to the restaurant will give you a good insight into our approach to ingredients, taste, and the pace at which we work. An informal way to get to know the kitchen and the venue before you decide – in the middle of everyday life, in the middle of the forest.

Seasonal produce

At Herthadalen's forest kitchen, we work based on the concept People and Meals, where local produce, quality, and organic are at the heart of it.

Our menus are inspired by the season – with greens from Herthamarken, herbs from the forest, and meat from animals that have had a good life. For us, animal welfare and taste are inextricably linked.

A place with attitude

At Herthadalen, we make conscious choices – especially when it comes to what we serve our guests. For example, we use locally tapped tap water instead of expensive imported bottled water. 

For us, sustainability isn't about symbolism, but about everyday action. Small choices that make sense and, all together, make a difference. We strive to be a place where responsibility, quality, and thoughtfulness go hand in hand – naturally & without pointing fingers.

GOOD CRAFTSMANSHIP

We greatly cherish good craftsmanship. In the kitchen, we pickle, bake, smoke, and ferment ourselves. We make our food from scratch with respect for the ingredients and the work behind them.

We believe that good craftsmanship can be tasted – and that it makes a difference when someone has had their hands in it all the way through.

LOCAL PRODUCERS

You can taste it when ingredients are cultivated by enthusiasts – passionate people who obsess over every detail because they simply can't help themselves.

These are the types of collaborations we engage with on a daily basis. Common to them is an uncompromising approach to quality and great respect for both the raw materials, the animals and nature.

Personal hosting

At Herthadalen, we put people first. Our guests' experiences are our greatest focus, and we are passionate about creating a place that allows for presence, peace, and connection to the earth.

The aim is to create a place where people and meals meet in community – and to provide the setting for life’s great celebrations: from the small moments of everyday life to life’s major events.

Nordic Aesthetics

At our place, food isn't just about taste – it also needs to look good. We care about aesthetics and are inspired by Nordic simplicity.

The colours are kept natural, the expression is clean, and we only use what makes sense for the dish. We source flowers and herbs as much as possible from our own herb garden or from the forest around us.

UNIQUE LOCATIONS

At Herthadalen & Ledreborg, we have a range of unique venues at our disposal. Some venues invite calm and contemplation, others grand moments and shared celebrations.

Common to them all is the location in the midst of forest and tranquility, the sense of presence, the aesthetics, and the feeling of being in a place where time may as well take its time.

Celebrate in a unique forest setting

In the middle of the forest near Roskilde, you'll find Herthadalen and Ledreborg – two unique locations for celebrations in Zealand, where nature and historic settings create something truly special. Here you are close to the forest and far from the ordinary, yet still only 30 minutes from Copenhagen.

At Herthadalen, we offer bright function rooms surrounded by nature, ideal for everything from birthdays and christenings to small and medium-sized parties. At Ledreborg, historic settings await – including the Castle Barn for larger celebrations, where both space and atmosphere make an impression.

What both venues have in common are flexible frameworks and a holistic experience, where we take care of the practicalities so you can be present. Based on our forest kitchen, we create meals that follow the season and tie the celebration together.
