Easter lunch

Spring is on its way, and with it, Easter. For many, this means the beginning of a series of cosy family traditions: decorating the house with Easter decorations, sending spring greetings, Easter egg hunts, and not least, holding the annual Easter lunch. The first spring holidays should be enjoyed by, among other things, gathering loved ones for an Easter lunch – and you are most welcome to come out and enjoy it in the forest.

As is tradition, we are opening the restaurant for Easter with an Easter menu of local produce alongside greens from Herthamarken. Plan a trip by for lunch with family or friends – Enjoy a walk around Knapsø and buy treats to take home from the Farm Shop.

NB! Remember to book a table in advance as we have limited seating.

Easter Menu

Snack

Croquettes of “Easter chicken” with wild garlic mayo.

STARTERS “Family-Style"

- Steamed white & green asparagus with hollandaise & air-dried ham
– Homemade mustard herring with apples, radishes & cress
– Classic breaded plaice fillet with chunky remoulade and herb salad

Served with homemade light and dark bread baked with flour from Østagergaard and cultured butter.

Main course

Spring lamb with grilled pointed cabbage and browned butter. Blanched broad beans, preserved lemon purée, herb panko and infused spring sauce. Served with potatoes with freshly foraged wild garlic pesto and seasonal greens.

Dessert

Spring's first rhubarb variation with vanilla cream, caramel crunch and fennel sprouts.

A stroll in the woods

In connection with your Easter visit, we encourage you to enjoy a short excursion in the surrounding forest. Conclude your visit with a leisurely stroll around Knapsø. Follow the paths, listen to the birds, and slow your pace – the forest invites peace and presence.

On your way back, you're welcome to pop into our cosy farm shop, where you can buy local produce and little treats to take home.
