The main house

The thatched main house. The main house is our largest venue in the forest, and can accommodate 70-130 people at round tables. The main house contains the Fireplace Room and the Birch Room, and will be divided into the respective rooms for parties with fewer than 70 people. The main house has its own large terrace overlooking Knapsø, which is ideal for enjoying a welcome drink or coffee after dinner.

With a strong connection to the surrounding nature, we have chosen a consistent Nordic aesthetic for the Main House, which is expressed through carefully selected contrasts and materials within the space. A large and bright function room, from which the surrounding nature can easily be incorporated and enjoyed simply by opening the doors – and stepping out onto the venue's own terrace.

The main house is not rented out separately (without food & drink).

Calm surroundings/environment

Thatched roof, whitewashed facade, leaded windows and views of the surrounding treetops. The main house radiates nostalgia, combining rural idyll with a peace that stems from many years of history.

The guests arrive along a gravel path, with the forest as a backdrop and the courtyard as the initial welcome. The atmosphere is calm and present.

Light tones/

The main house consists of two living rooms that flow naturally into one another – with light-coloured walls, large windows, and a view of the forest outside.

The venue has a simplicity that stands strong on its own, but can simultaneously also function as a white canvas, where you can easily add your own personal touches & details.

Own terrace

The main house boasts a large terrace with views of Knapsø lake and the surrounding treetops.

The terrace is yours for the entire event – a tranquil outdoor space for welcome bubbles, breaks in the sun, or late hours under the open sky.

Nordic Aesthetics

The main house is decorated in light tones and Nordic minimalism.

As part of the expression, we bring elements in from the surrounding forest – pheasant feathers, branches, and dried flowers – and let them leave a quiet mark on the room, a natural extension of the forest outside.

Premises in the forest

FROM INTIMATE TO GRAND

Herthadalen offers several different settings – from intimate lounges to grand halls. Each location has its own character, special qualities, and capacity. In addition to the Main House, you can hold your celebrations in the Orangery with a view of the sky, or in the Forest Tent, where nature is brought very close.

Whether you are hosting many guests or wish for more of a castle-like atmosphere, we also have access to the grand halls at Ledreborg Palace.
